Yesterday saw EC attend a ceremony at 8 Northumberland in London for the British Engineering Excellence awards. It was a sell out event with over 300 people attending, all vying for the top awards being handed out that afternoon.
EC had been shortlisted for the prestigious Material Application of the Year award, for its innovative use of Low Pressure Overmoulding to protect the components for a motorcycle Heads Up display unit. We were up against some stiff competition and had already done incredibly well to be nominated for the award. Unfortunately EC were beaten at the final hurdle with the award going to another company.
EC’s Managing Director-Phil Simmonds- who attended the event, was upbeat in the face of the result commenting,
“It’s unfortunate that we did not win the award, however it has been a great journey to get to this stage, competing against the crème de la crème of Electronics Engineering designers in the UK and fighting off numerous other entries to reach the short list. We are currently working on some exciting new projects and hope to be in the frame for these awards next year, hopefully doing one better and gaining the top prize.”
