BASINGSTOKE, March 03, 2026 – EC Electronics has announced the acquisition of the trade and assets of Gwent Cables Ltd, with the deal completing on 25 February 2026.

Based in Cwmbran, Gwent Cables is a specialist manufacturer of precision cable harnesses and cable assemblies, serving a broad range of industries including high-reliability sectors. The business holds AS9100 (Mil-Aero) accreditation and has built a strong reputation for quality, responsiveness and long-standing customer relationships over more than 23 years.

The acquisition expands EC Electronics’ manufacturing capability and expertise, adding over two decades of specialist cable assembly experience and supporting continued service for customers across multiple electronics sectors.

All Gwent Cables employees will transfer to EC Electronics with immediate effect, ensuring continuity of skills, knowledge and customer support. Customers will retain the same core contacts and manufacturing expertise, ensuring ongoing service with minimal disruption.

The acquisition forms part of EC Electronics’ long-term growth strategy through targeted acquisitions. Following the acquisition of Swan EMS in December 2022, this latest development further demonstrates EC’s commitment to sustained investment in the UK and the strengthening of its regional manufacturing footprint.
